LIVE BLOG: The Day Before The Wedding!

Welcome to our live blog covering the day before Harry and Meghan's wedding. We'll be bringing you a variety of updates throughout the day. We expect to see the couple at Windsor where Meghan's mother Doria will meet the Queen and this evening, we hope to see images of the mother and daughter leaving for Cliveden House Hotel. The most recent updates will appear at the top of the post. Don't forget to refresh the page to see the latest updates!

20:50 - I have published a separate post covering Meghan and Doria's arrival at Cliveden. Click here to view it. The live blog is now closed, see you at 8 am and thanks for following today :)

19:05 - Another beautiful photo.

18:55 - Stunning mother-daughter shot.

18:45 - An arrival video.

18:35 - Meghan is wearing the Roland Mouret Barwick fit and flare wool crepe dress (with thanks to Amanda from Meghan's Mirror). It's available at FarFetch.

18:30 - We can expect gorgeous photos of Meghan and Doria shortly.

18:23 - Meghan and Doria have just arrived at the Cliveden House Hotel. When asked how she's feeling, Meghan replied "Wonderful, thank you". Doria met both the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh today.

18:20 - Harry and his Best Man William met with members of the crowd in Windsor. There was an electric atmosphere and the pair were beaming.

The Telegraph reports:

'Adoring audience members filmed the occasion on their phones as a team of security guards made sure nothing untoward took place.
At one point Harry was handed a small teddy bear wearing a red sweater, which he gave a quick hug before moving on to speak to a young boy sporting a red, white and blue crown-style hat.
When asked how he was feeling, Harry replied: "Great."

Afterwards the pair left for Coworth Park where they will spend the night. The luxury retreat is set on 240 acres of picturesque Berkshire parkland. The estate features an eco-luxury spa with an indoor pool and three restaurants. The rooms have stunning views of the lime grove, meadows and polo fields."

17:50 -  Harry and William are meeting the crowds at Windsor. You can watch Sky News live below.

17:20 - Reports Harry and William might do an impromptu walkabout.

17:15 - Sky reports something is about to happen in Windsor. Sniffer dogs and a large number of police on the scene. Are the couple departing? Could an impromptu walkabout be on the cards?

17:10 - A fabulous video showing an overview of the majestic Windsor Castle.

16:20 - A friend kindly alerted me to a very sweet moment most (including yours truly) missed yesterday. The Queen was photographed in Windsor yesterday accompanied by none other than Meghan's beagle Guy. Harry revealed the Queen's Corgi's have taken to Meghan greatly and it looks like Guy feels the same about Her Majesty. You can view the video at Lainey Gossip.

Meghan and Guy.

15:50 - Excitement in Windsor is reaching fever pitch. Take a look at the crowds...

The Royal Family shared this excellent look at the route the procession will take tomorrow.

Marks and Spencer in Windsor has had a Royal Wedding rebrand.

An overview from Windsor.

Outside the Castle.

Even the local police are getting in on the action.

15:05 - Whilst Harry, Meghan and Doria are enjoying tea with the Queen, all ten page boys and bridesmaids are at a rehearsal with their parents. I expect William and Kate are there.

15: 05 - High-res images coming in from the wonderful James Whatling. The couple look incredibly happy.

A closer look at the bride-to-be.

14:30 - It's a wonderful opportunity for Meghan's mother to meet Her Majesty and of course to discuss tomorrow's wedding. They both look very excited.

A video of the couple leaving Kensington Palace.

14:25 - Harry, Meghan and Doria have arrived at Windsor Castle for tea with the Queen.

14:15 - Members of the Suits cast are preparing to attend the wedding. Rick Hoffman, Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty spoke to Today. Rick reminisced about a fun memory of Meghan joining him for a wedding in Paris. Five years later, he has arrived in London to attend Meghan's.

The cast discuss how they found out they were dating back in 2016.

13.50 - Interesting input from Sunday Express reporter Camilla Tominey on Prince Charles walking Meghan down the aisle. "I think it's a massive deal. Basically it's a future King saying to Meghan, welcome the family. There was a discussion between Meghan, Harry and his father yesterday. Meghan was the one who led in with "Would you mind?" A spokesperson told Camilla he's "absolutely delighted".

Camilla also revealed "the service has soul".

11:20 - The Palace just confirmed the Royal Wedding will be streamed live on The Royal Family YouTube Channel from 11 am. The stream can be viewed by people all over the world.

More from the KP:

Live updates and material from the wedding of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle will be released through a range of online platforms throughout the day. The multimedia coverage is in line with the couple’s wishes to make the wedding as accessible as possible for as many people as want to participate.

As well as the live broadcast on the main channels in the UK – BBC One, ITV and Sky – people can follow the Royal Wedding on social media on;

  • Facebook - The British Monarchy Facebook page
  • Twitter - @RoyalFamily, @KensingtonRoyal, @ClarenceHouse
  • Instagram - @TheRoyalFamily, @KensingtonRoyal, @ClarenceHouse
  • Youtube - The Royal Channel

Our Watch The Wedding page has additional information on programming and live streaming.

10:45 - Buckingham Palace confirms Prince Philip will attend the wedding. Terrific news!

10.00 - Kensington Palace just confirmed Prince Charles will walk Meghan down the aisle. The Palace said "The Prince is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way". He will the escort her to her Prince. I think it's an excellent choice. It would have placed enormous pressure on Doria at very short notice and Meghan will want her mother to enjoy the day. It's also another clear indication of how warmly welcomed Meghan has been by her future in-laws. A show of unity and support following what has undoubtedly been a stressful week.

Meghan will make the first half of the walk, up the nave, with the page boys and bridesmaids before meeting Charles at the Quire. A look at the layout from Emily Andrews.

Omid Scobie revealed sources told him Charles was "extremely touched" by Meghan's request.

People reports:

'The royal bride-to-be asked Charles to take over the duty in the last 24 hours, since it was revealed that her father was not able to attend. “It was Meghan’s wish and she is grateful for the Prince of Wales to be doing it,” a royal source tells PEOPLE.'

09:50 - The baking of the Royal Wedding Lemon and Elderflower cake is firmly underway.

The ingredients?

🍋 200 Amalfi lemons:
🥚 500 organic eggs from Suffolk
🐄 20kgs of butter
🍰 20kgs of flour
🍬 20kgs of sugar
🥃 10 bottles of Sandringham Elderflower Cordial

More from The Telegraph:

'The royal bakers have revealed they are abandoning the tradition of a tiered wedding cake - and teased of a surprise unveiling on the day. Claire Ptak, who is making the culinary centrepiece, said the layered lemon and elderflower cake will be in three parts of varying sizes.
The final design will be unveiled on the big day, with the couple in on the plans, but it will be unveiled in a non-traditional way, she said. "You'll have to wait and see on the day. It's an installation of the way that we're putting it out. It's the last thing that we'll reveal. It's a non-traditional layout," Ms Ptak said.
"It's a slight shift from tradition." She revealed how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle loved trying a number of different cake samples before settling on lemon and elderflower for their big day. She said: "They loved it. They tried quite a collection. What they said to me is that they really loved the idea of the seasonality and the freshness."

Claire is not making a back up cake adding: "It's a cake. It can't go that wrong. We don't want to be wasteful."

    1. 🌸 I would not, would not have wanted to walk my daughter down the aisle in front of the whole world if I were Doria. As much as she lives, cherishes and adores Meghan she was not trained in Theatre and International Relations like Meghan, so it could have been a real strain on Doria. Now she can just relax and enjoy and more privately shed a tear of joy or two during the wedding.

Now, organically, Meghan has come into his life, he has become endeared to her & she clearly cherishes him & now He will be accompanying her through the Quire to join Harry to be Married & become a permanent part of Their British Royal Family & Step into History! :) xoxo

Reading a bit further, Meghan will walk by herself half-way, and then Prince Charles will join her half-way. I wonder whether he will 'give her away'? So for those who thought it would be empowering for her to walk alone, she is, but she also has someone to walk her the last part of the way. I wonder why they decided on this, any thoughts?

    ReplyDelete

    1. 🌸 Fiona. :) I find that somehow appropriate. That commemorates that she has had to forge ahead by herself in lieu of all the misery her family sadly tried to impart to her. Sort of a requiem walk so to speak. A show of strength that she is an independent woman. A show of absence of family support. Very bold and very poignant. Being big on tradition, if Charles was not part of the equation, I wouldn’t be so supportive of the solitary part of it though.

    2. Eve from Germany18 May 2018 at 15:12

Fiona, King Carl Gustav of Sweden also walked both his daughters "half-way" and then the groom took over. Both times it was said that he wanted to show his support for the marriages, at the same time walking the rest of the aisle with the groom showed the "modern-woman" aspect that is very important in Scandinavian countries.
So, maybe, this is what Meghan wants to show here as well - I´m my own woman - but I´m part of a family as well. I thought this solution is perfect, don´t you think?

The news actually brought a tear to my eye and while I have always liked Charles, I have a renewed admiration and affection for him at how he has embraced his son's choice of bride. I'll bet he wishes that his parents had done the same for him. I am glad that the RF has learned from past mistakes and isn't letting tradition and protocol totally rule in their decisions. Charles will make a great King!

  22. Good morning! Charlotte, you are quite amazing...thank you for all you do for us. Today and tomorrow are very exciting days and I, for one, can’t wait.

I was not expecting Meghan to ask Prince Charles but what a special moment that will be. I think it’s very telling of the close relationship that Charles, William and Harry share. I was hoping for her mom as her escort down the aisle but I do understand Meghan not asking her.

I had no doubt that Prince Phillip would attend. He is not immortal and I’m sure he is aware that at 96, his active participation in their lives is waning. I suspect we will see him at close family events so he can enjoy these special times with his family.

  23. Good morning! In less than 24 hours, we will all be watching Meghan and Harry get married! OMG, I am soooo excited. I can't wait to see the dress! The tiara! Harry's uniform! If we are so excited, how much Meghan and Harry be feeling right now?

I'm glad that Meghan will have Charles to walk her down the aisle, if that's who she wishes. I would also have been fine if she chose to walk on her own or with her mother, or if she and Harry walked together. Basically, at this point, I want her to have whatever she wants! The media has been so nasty about her father and half-siblings and I hope that from this point on, the narrative can change to just love, fun, and excitement. And, I hope that having Charles walking her down the aisle will show everyone who was in doubt that Meghan is being warmly welcomed into the royal family. I also hope the crowds in Windsor are massive to show support to the new royal bride.

I'm really hoping that today we will also get information about her personal coat of arms. All along, I've wanted her to get one for her use only (so the Markles would not be able to use it), but I'm a bit worried that we haven't heard anything about it yet. Kate's was published about 10 days before the wedding so I thought for sure we would have heard about Meghan's by now. I'm hoping the California poppies from the instrument of consent will be on her CoA.

Also...their title!! What are folks thinking they will get? My favorite has always been Duke/Duchess of Clarence and Avondale :) It's different from just 'Clarence' on its own (so there is no recent or negative history associated with it) and the Duke of Clarence and Avondale was only used once and has been extinct since 1892. Plus, Avondale sounds dreamy :)

Charlotte - thank you so much for all of your wonderful blogging. I haven't been posting recently because I was on vacation in...England (but not Windsor), and I couldn't get the comment posting to work very well on my phone. However, your twitter feed and blog were checked daily and I appreciated the calm, unbiased, thorough reporting. You are amazing!

  26. I like the symbolism of the Prince of Wales meeting her at the screen. In collegiate and monastery chapels, it is usual for members of the public to sit in the nave for services, whilst dons or monks sit in the quire. In the case of a private chapel, the family place is in the quire. So the entrance to the quire is the obvious place to meet her. "Up until now you have been a member of the public. Now you are one of us."

  30. I said yesterday it would be nice for Prince Charles to be asked to walk Meghan down the aisle, but then thought again that maybe she wouldn't because it might offend her father, whatever the reason for his not being there. But I'm glad she did because I think it's symbolic of her joining the family, not just marrying Harry.

  31. Does anyone know what Claire Ptak means by "no back-up cake?" My interpretation of that statement is that they will serve the main display cake to the guests?! This seems so bizarre to me because it would take forever to cut that cake up to serve 600 people (plus the individual slices would look a MESS)! I would think that - like most large weddings - they would have baked separate layered sheet cakes that would have been cut and ready to serve to guests right after the bride and groom do the first slice in the display cake.

I am also nervous because, as an avid baker, I can attest that buttercream will MELT and layers will go sliding around unless the room is very cool...which it probably won't be since there will be 600 guests and hundreds of staff there.

I guess I'm getting a bit nervous about more things going wrong tomorrow or somehow this wedding coming off as less professional than other royal weddings. I just don't want there to be things that Meghan (because we know it would be HER as opposed to Harry!) will get criticized for...since she is already getting so much flak in certain media circles.

Okay...deep breaths. I need to just relax and remain calm for tomorrow or I'll go nuts!

    2. I saw this done at a wedding. The display cake was just that and was not cut except by the bride and groom. Instead, the guests were served individual cakes--layered and iced with butter cream in the same style as the display cake. Servers brought them out on individual plates at the last minute. It was lovely.

I'm sure they will have figured it out. By saying "it can't go that wrong" suggests that it's not the first time Claire Ptak has used this cake for a similar occasion.

Anon23, me too!! Nothing can go wrong with a cake? A buttercream cake on top of it? She might be surprised....

    6. You raise some excellent points, Inthekitchen, about the cake. For all the reasons you mention, the traditional British fruitcake that is usually served at royal weddings, would hold up better. I am going to miss the amazing works of art that we usually see on wedding cakes done with royal icing…the intricate embellishments and symbolism. But Meghan and Harry selected something different, which is their choice, of course. Even if the buttercream melts and the layers slide, it won't effect the taste, only the appearance.

      Delete
    7. This may be a duplicate. I assume the display cake frosting will be modified to hold up and that they will serve the guests precut sheet cake with "real" buttercream frosting. The no backup cake refers to only the display cake and if someone drops a section or layer they may just adjust the arrangement.I am guessing they have different layers or even shapes of the cake arranged on platters with flowers.

      Delete

  33. WOW! I am blown away that she's having Prince Charles walk her down the aisle! I didn't think that was really at all likely. Of course, I would also have loved the "modern" choice of walking with her mother or walking by herself, but Meghan IS a modern woman and she's making her own decisions! I think this is really lovely!

And this is some excellent PR for Prince Charles. I also think this will probably shift the focus - just a tad - from her father not being there.

I'm going to get very little work done today! This is like Christmas! Charlotte, I think that makes you Santa ;)

  34. I’m just so happy and excited! I don’t post often, but have been an avid reader of both blogs for quite some time. Thank you Charlotte for outstanding postings!!

How lovely for Prince Charles to walk with Meghan. It’s rather symbolic for her to walk part way by herself (followed by the little ones) and then be escorted into becoming a member of the royal family by none other than the future king. And the cake sounds absolutely delicious. I know it’s a break with English tradition, but I’d sure love to have a piece. From the recipe it sounds rather like a pound cake. Now if I could just find a bottle of the cordial I just might try to bake one😊

All in all I can’t wait! I’ll be setting my alarm for a very early wake up!

The Royals are really coming together as a family, Megham must be so touched by all the support.

  40. Charlotte, on CNN they are reporting that Meghan will walk herself up the first part of The aisle (through The Nave) which they are marking as unprecedented (aka she's a strong woman who doesn't need anyone to "give her away") & that Charles will meet her at the entrance to The Quire & will walk her down that last stretch of The Aisle, but will stop just short of the alter & She will approach Harry herself (again, as in She doesn't actually need anyone to hand her over to Harry, rather she is coming to join Harry as herself) Does this match with what you are hearing? It's a subtle twist, seems plausible, still has the emotion & veritas of Charles walking her through the Quire! They are just marking the news as a 2 part unique plan! Charlotte, I'd love to have your take on or confirmation of this? It's True, Your Coverage is The Only Coverage I Trust!! :) xo

    2. If CNN Is correct…and they are a credible source, then this all sounds so symbolic and well thought out. I'm sure Meghan had help from the advisors and staff to the royals, to reach this solution. Nobody does pageantry or ceremony as well as the Brits. Charles will be accompanying Meghan on part of her walk, but not be giving her away. It is a lovely, supportive welcome for Meghan and an excellent "raise the profile" move for Charles.

I am aware of two things: 1) Diana brought a more compassionate and flexible attitude to the royal family. She raised her boys in such a way, that the women they chose to marry, reflect where the monarchy needs to go. 2) The whole Markle family debacle has been snuffed out and the higher road has prevailed. All's well that ends well!

I'm not certain how you will watch it later, because you are in LA and I am in central Canada and our TV listings are likely very different. But it is my hunch, that highlights of the wedding will play all day, in many places in the world. I'd suggest you just keep flipping TV channels until you find the one you want. Have fun sharing this precious moment with your mother and daughter!

  54. I had a thought..... I find it so intriguing that some of their friends who will actually be guests at The Wedding are on some of the US Talk Shows (ABC, NBC). I'm wondering what the procedure is about that. I can only imagine that this has been cleared by Harry & Meghan? I've seen The Suits cast members, A Variety of Harry's friends from Polo, Nottingham Cause etc. None of them are answering any direct questions about any details, even what they themselves will be wearing, just chatting about how wonderful Harry & Meghan are together & as themselves. The only personal notes are a story here & there about a touching moment each may have experienced with them that gives an example of H & M's caring genuine ways! Can we assume they have all flown the idea of being on US Show Coverage before hand? I would only assume! I always trust when India Hicks is on! (Charles' GodDaughter/ Bridesmaid to Princess Diana/ Granddaughter of Uncle Dickie/Lord Louis Mountbatten/Charles's Great Uncle/ 1st Cousin of The Queen's Father & Brother of Prince Phillip's Mother/ & potential inspiration for new little Prince Louis's name) I mean I suppose it's best to hand pick friends to put out there, instead of just leaving it to whoever the news shows can dig up! Thoughts?

    1. Part of me can see how the friends who are appearing on TV might have had to get "approval" from Meghan or Harry, but another part thinks that they've been too busy to get emails from friends asking if it's okay if they show up on The Today Show or wherever. Also, it's not like anyone has revealed anything private, so I'm not sure why any approval would be necessary. I also think it's important that we have heard from any people who the media say are Meghan's close friends, namely the parents of the kids who will be page boys, etc. Really close friends aren't showing up anywhere. Lastly, while I might understand Harry/Meghan wanting to make sure that people aren't revealing too much, if I were one of their friends I might be offended if Harry/Meghan felt that they had to tell me not to say anything. Not to refer to her step sister, but if I'm a guest, I'm entitled to talk about my experiences, while still maintaining Harry/Meghan's privacy.

      Delete
    2. Yes Becca I think it was cleared by Harry and Meghan. I think they are there to tell us about Meghan and they have wonderful things to tell about their friend. I am happy as I wanted to hear from someone else not Samantha and Thomas Jnr.

      Delete
    3. I love your enthusiasm, Becca! And I'm glad to see some of Meghan's friends to share very general and positive comments about H&M. The Suits cast, for example, above, just admitted they'd known they were dating before we did, which is not exactly a surprise, and when pressed for a more personal answer, deflected it beautifully into a general "They're wonderful together!" I'm sure that Meghan has talked to some of them, or the Palace, about please behaving on camera; and of course her friends aren't getting involved with the shabbier types of coverage or are going to say anything that could hurt her! I'm certainly not surprised -- Meghan is such a classy person herself, I cannot imagine any of her friends being as low-class as her half-siblings, for example!

I'm thrilled that Charles is going to walk her down the aisle in the quire, too -- I suspect that the majority of the ugly stuff will go away quickly, at least for a while (the tabloids do love to stir up controversy, even if they have to hire people to invent it!) as she proves herself to be the lovely person we all know she is. And there's certainly no better way to welcome her to the family officially than to approach the front of the church on the future king's arm!

I'm also intrigued by your suggestion that they named Louis after Louis Mountbatten. That certainly could be a nod to Charles, who was so incredibly fond of his uncle, but it's also a widely-used royal name for centuries. And they haven't said who the baby is named after, so I suppose all we can do is guess. But it's a great idea, and you'll certainly be prophetic if it turns out to be true!

I have been watching so many royal shows, and I just love some of the stories that were told on the older shows! Did anyone else see David Emanuel on the program about Diana's wedding talking about her petticoat? I'll tell it for him here because I know you'll all love it if you've never heard it before -- even my husband, who is NOT interested in royalty, laughed his head off! David Emanuel was at Clarence House the morning of the wedding, where Diana was staying with the Queen Mother, making sure that there were no problems with Diana's dress. But when he asked her if her petticoat was really on securely, her answer didn't satisfy him, so he decided he needed to check for himself so it wouldn't "come adrift" as she was walking up the aisle of St. Paul's! So he crawled up UNDER her dress, between the dress and the petticoat, and once he was assured that the petticoat was indeed on securely he started to crawl back out from under the skirt -- at which point he heard Diana say to him, "David, have you met the Queen Mother?" Hah hah hah! Can you imagine being under Diana's dress when the Queen Mother walked in? It makes me laugh every time I think about it!

  67. Regarding their new royal titles, just as matter of personal preference I would like to see the Duke and Duchess of Buckingham. I simply think it has a nice ring to it without considering any historical connections. My second choice would actually be the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, again, only because I like the sound of it. I understand the historical problems with this title but time to let bad memories rest. Everything that Edward and Wallis did wrong, Harry and Meghan are doing right and the title can come full circle from bad to good. What I really don't like is Sussex. The name just sounds harsh to my ears --- the Duke and Duchess of Sussex just doesn't seem to roll off my tongue very smoothly. But, of course, I will grow to love which ever title the Queen decides to bestow as Harry and Meghan are going to do so well together that anything will end up sounding good on Harry and Meghan. So looking forward to tomorrow and so glad Charles is walking Meghan down the aisle. Such the right decision for so so many reasons. Marla from NH

I honestly was a bit worried about her yesterday because she looked a bit gaunt (couldn´t find a better word for it, just as if she hadn´t had much sleep and hadn´t eaten much during the last few days - and, I mean, who can blame her!!).
I´m sure with the walk down the aisle being sorted, she feels huge relief and can finally relax a little bit and concentrate on what´s laying ahead!! The hotel looks phenomenal - I´d have checked in a few days earlier, to be honest and enjoy the facilities, lol!!

  71. Well said. The giving of the bride in modern terms is about having the support of her family, not as a transfer of ownership. I am glad Charles stepped into the role. Just a gentle reminder, Penny, that Queen Victoria walked at least one of her daughters down the aisle.Whilst Prince Charles is used to public appearances, perhaps her Mother isn't and the idea may have been all a bit much. Or perhaps it was never considered. Not sure how the decision was made, but I tihnk it's a lovely reaffirmation of the family's belief in Meghan on behalf of the BRF to do this.

Surfer girl, I suspect that even dogs behave themselves when they are "in the Presence" 😄
Seriously, animals and especially dogs know exactly who loves them and are at ease with them!

  86. OMG I know this would never happen but I would LOVE for Guy to walk Meghan at least through the nave. OMGOMGOMG.

  87. An article from the Sydney Morning Herald that says it well. https://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/life-and-relationships/meghan-markle-s-dad-is-not-her-biggest-problem-20180517-p4zfu7.html
Hope the day goes well tomorrow for Harry and Meghan. Thank you for this blog. I have now stopped reading those articles in the Daily Fail that are exclusively about Meghan and Harry or Meghan's family as they are too ugly. Glance at those about, say, the flower girls and pageboys, or the flower arrangements, cake. Anything else is just ugly, full of innuendo and snark and I refuse to aid and abet the newspaper in their outright bullying and what I perceive as sheer slander. Again, thank you for this blog and the hard work you put into it. It is much appreciated. Looking forward to The Dress! :)

I haven't had time to read all of the comments here so maybe someone has mentioned this already. When I clicked over to Lainey Gossip I see she makes a great point about Prince Charles walking Meghan down the aisle and whether or not it really was her idea to ask: "Meghan Markle, who’s not even in the royal family yet, who’s still learning about all kinds of royal etiquette, would it have been in her place to even float the idea? More likely it would have been gracefully, subtly, and tactfully – in other words royally – suggested to her, right? And this way, the embarrassment of the last few days, of her rogue relatives wreaking havoc on the situation, pretty much evaporates." Yes, a brilliant move on the part of the RF.

🐶👸 The Queen and Guy!!!! I can't stop giggling with delight!

I was pregnant when William and Kate's wedding happened and fondly remember all of us streaming the coverage at work since it was during the work week. Now I have a spirited 6 and a half year old and I'm hoping that she will let Mommy pause to check in on Harry and Meghan once in awhile tomorrow 😆 Thank goodness for your blog, Charlotte!!

    3. Anonymous in Colorado, I am currently pregnant with our first and hope to one day reflect on how far our little girl, and the royal couple, have come in the years since this momentous day. I'm even celebrating with a glass of champagne (cleared by my doctor, of course). Thank you for sharing!

  91. Not to detract from all the wonderful things now happening, but I just read something of interest. The Florida police have spent three hours searching their data base and can find no evidence that half sister Sarah and her boyfriend had a car accident. If indeed they did, then he can be fined and spend two months in jail for not reporting it. And if her injuries are as stated, she likely wasn't wearing a seatbelt. What a mess that woman is.

  92. The photo of Guy with the Queen is a really cute one. i do not know how long legs take to mend but do you think his broken bones are all healed? He must get along with the corgis and the Queen. Actually like others that is one of the best "cutest" snaps.

  93. Charlotte, thank you giving us this forum. Any chance you could add a poll with the top five speculated dress designers so that we can vote? Curious to see who every thinks will be the designer? Of course there will be two dresses.

  94. Frankly, I can't get over the photo of Guy! What could be sweeter and more telling? I remember that PP said that they were, after all, a family. I love that they "allow" Kate to have such a close relationship with her very supportive family yet lose in and assist Meghan, who has so few family members she can count on. I read somewhere, which means it may or may not be true, that Charles felt the Middletons were very involved in William's children and he was hoping to get close to Meghan, so that he could have more time with any children that Harry and Meghan had. Reports sound like Doria was greeted with much warmth and hopefully, in my opinion, that might help her decide to spend more time in the UK.

Can you believe that just a year ago we were wondering if she would go to Pippa's reception????

  95. Oh god, Guy the Beagle with the Queen!!! That might just be the best thing I've seen, yet.

Meghan is glowing and looks very relaxed.

There must be SO much excitement, especially with the little page boys and bridesmaids having a rehearsal!

Loved seeing William and Harry do a walkabout. They were out there longer than I expected them to be. Both look happy and relaxed.

  96. I always wonder if it's awkward for the security guards driving members of the royal family or accompanying them on errands. Like....if you're the one driving the Queen, do you say anything or just sit there in silence and pretend you don't exist? LOL!

  100. 🌸 For titles, my wishes are, 🥁📜
The Duke and Duchess of Windsor
The Duke and Duchess of Buckingham
The Duke and Duchess of Clarence and Avondale
The Duke and Duchess of Sherwood Forest, (okay. only kidding).
No Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as that apparently was given to Queen Victoria’s uncle, by Victoria, as a bribe to allow Albert to routinely accompany her into dinner. Altering slightly the order of procession. 😉

(Thanks to those who let me know that Buckingham and Clarence and Avondale titles even existed.)

  101. I love the picture of the Queen with Guy, the beagle. How wonderful is that. Great video of Harry and William greeting the crowds. Meghan and her mother look beautiful. Such excitement!

  102. Love the video if them arriving. Ms Ragland looks composed and very attractive, as does Meghan. I hope they have a lovely peaceful evening together. When Meghan leaves tomorrow she will almost be a Royal Duchess

  104. I am not into putting a priority on looks but wow! That dress! She looks beautiful. Wish I could afford that dress is exactly but I would love to wear. Look how elegant her mom is and how happy they both are. So happy for the both of them! Doria is a class-act!

  105. Loving her navy dress. So chic! Interesting Roland Mouret - should we cross this brand off the list for the wedding gown given it is represented here?

I can't wait to see the dress, the accessories, her hair style - all of it! And what uniform is Harry going to wear? Will as well?

Doria handled herself incredibly well when they arrived. Very graceful - and she acknowledged with a quick nod the ones who were standing there (mostly reporters and photographers I guess). And even a hint of a wave later... :-)))) Not "trying to hard" but also not "too shy" or even "oh no, THOSE photographers AGAIN!!" - I´m impressed. She exudes calm and grace - wonderful qualities in a mother of a future princess.... ;-)))

  108. Doria is indeed very attractive!! I can't help but think how happy MM must be to have put her mom in a position where the Queen and future king of England welcome her so warmly. And to have her ushered into the expensive hotel by older white guys after enduring earlier racial abuse. Doria looks truly happy. Wish it could happen to every mom but at least it's great to see!!

I LOVE MM's dress and love seeing the two together. Hope for many more opportunities in the future.

  109. Wow that arrival video of Meghan and her mother!!!! Her mother is STUNNING. They both look beautiful. Their dresses are understated and classic and they are both just exuding grace. I cannot wait for tomorrow :) :)
